Las Vegas police kill unarmed black man on false facts 

On New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas, police fatally shot an unarmed black man, 23-year-old Keith Childress, Jr., while he was standing on a neighborhood driveway.

They shot him five times. He died right there on the scene.

That’s generally what happens when you shoot a man five times.

He was the last known man killed by American police in 2015 — fatality 1,202 — the highest number of people killed by police ever recorded in the United States.

For days after Childress was killed, police and the media advanced a key lie, claiming he was wanted for attempted murder.

This is a complete fabrication that should not be left alone.

In a recent press conference, Undersheriff Kevin McMahill stated that metro police were told by the U.S. Marshal’s Office that Childress was wanted for attempted murder, but that “this information about the attempted murder charge later turned out to be false.”

Whatever the case, when the police found Childress, having also been told he might be armed, they began to imagine a few things that didn’t actually exist.

Family and friends of Childress saw him as a loving father who had a baby on the way.

After being shot and killed, police said his cell phone was actually found in his pocket. How then did they confuse it with a gun?

Instead of accepting the responsibility, police are already blaming Childress — who was neither armed or wanted for murder when they believed both.
